Well Blobyrinth is still rolling… slowly as usual but gunning for completion. Pretty much all that’s left is menus, map screen, and cutscenes.
Â
The minigames that’ll be included in the game’s in-game arcade (and playable on the website) will be (similar to) PacMan, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Frogger, and Spy Hunter. Hopefully there’ll be some reasonable competition for high score in these classic remakes (free games = good).Â
In other news, I added midi support (for windows) to T2D, which was quite easy and fun. If anyone knows a good cross-platform midi file player library let me know, because as it stands I’m going to have to redo that when I get to the Mac port. Also, if anyone knows how to change the volume level with hardware midi (when using DirectSound) in a robust way that supports different hardware, let me know that too, because that part is confusing the bajeesus outta me.
Bloby’s almost done… I just gotta get back to work and do it. GTD don’t fail me now! Tune in next time (I’ll be blogging more often I swear)…

Congrats on the progress! I’m making slow and steady progress on my own project, but I can safely say that I will not have a lot of functionality if any by the 15th like I wanted.
Thanks! Well you may recall my original claims for when this puppy would be ready… so don’t feel bad about the missed deadlines… there’s thousands of us here with ya.
Yeah there really are plenty of us out there who find it hard to hit deadlines even when we purposely overestimate the time it will take. So.. just gotta keep plugging away
Nice looking gfx there Tim, very interesting looking… good luck with it!
Thanks, Sharpfish. I’ll pass that sentiment on to the artist on the Ghost Ship. Plugging is indeed what we’re doing, and the release of Bloby is now very near methinks. Perhaps in time to make our Chicago Indie Meetup something of a launch party… woo! Anyway thanks for reading and leaving comments… it’s a bit of a Ghost Town around here…
Nice work you’ve got going there, kinda looks like Chip’s Challenge… Will be interesting to try it out
